This time, I came to connect with a local project and stayed at Linyi River Hotel. Originally, I only came for its core location on the banks of the Yi River. Unexpectedly, after experiencing the whole process, what impressed me the most was not the view of the Yi River visible through the window, but the excellent service from check-in to check-out, which is a solid quality that only old high star hotels that carry the local memory of Linyi have.
I arrived at the hotel at around 10 pm with my suitcase. As soon as I reached the door, the doorman quickly came up and took my suitcase, delivering it all the way to the lobby. When checking in, the front desk noticed that I was holding the project docking materials for the next day in my hand. After completing the procedures, I turned around and handed over a cup of hot Linyi specialty grain soup. With a smile, I said that it was cool in Linyi at night, and I wanted to drink a cup of hot soup to warm up my body. They even reminded me of the docking meeting for the next day and proactively set the wake-up alarm fifteen minutes earlier, afraid that I would oversleep and delay my trip. I casually mentioned that the formal attire I would wear the next day was a bit wrinkled, and she immediately said that the housekeeping department provides free ironing service 24 hours a day, and can help me iron the clothes flat and straight within ten minutes.
Within ten minutes of returning to the room, the room service brought over the ironed suit and also brought a small plate of locally cut yellow peaches. They said they saw from my registration information that I came from out of town to Linyi and specially prepared some local specialty fruits for me to relieve fatigue. Halfway through, I was rushing to connect the project with the speech manuscript at the writing desk. I called the desk to ask if there were any extra file bags and sticky notes. In less than five minutes, the staff delivered the items to the door and even handed me two additional signature pens, fearing that the pens might suddenly run out of ink when I was writing.
The next day, I rushed to the docking site early. As soon as I arrived at the lobby, the front desk recognized me and took the initiative to tell me that my reserved vehicle had been waiting at the door five minutes in advance, afraid that I would be in a hurry to sign in. They even helped me move the project information bag stored at the front desk to the car in advance. Halfway through, I accidentally left a handbag containing an important project USB drive in the hotel's breakfast room. The cleaning lady noticed it and immediately handed it over to the front desk. The staff took a photo and sent me a text message to confirm the characteristics of the handbag, fearing that I would be in a hurry. They even arranged for a staff member on the way to directly deliver it to the entrance of the docking venue, without delaying my subsequent speaking session.
Having stayed in hotels in so many cities, the service in many places has remained at the level of "completing standard actions according to procedures". However, the service of Linyi River Hotel truly takes into account the subtle needs of guests, without overly enthusiastic interruptions, and always provides a timely response when you need it. This time, while on a business trip to Yi, I took a stroll along the Yi River and specifically chose Linyi River Hotel. I had heard from local friends before that it is an old high star hotel in Linyi that has carried the memories of several generations. It is located on the banks of the Yi River in Lanshan District, just a 10 minute taxi ride from Linyi Station, without having to drag a suitcase around the city. After staying for three days, I realized that it not only has a unique location by the river, but also incorporates the down-to-earth warmth of Yimeng into every accommodation detail.
The process of checking in was particularly smooth. The security guard at the gate saw me carrying two large boxes of specialty products and took the initiative to help deliver them to the lobby. After verifying the information at the front desk, they specially arranged a high area room facing the Yi River for me. They also smiled and reminded me that the sunrise on the bank of the Yi River at 7:30 in the morning was particularly beautiful, and I could walk two steps along the hotel's exclusive walkway to reach the river. Pushing open the door of the 45 square meter room, warm Chinese soft furnishings paired with plain cotton and linen bedding, without flashy internet celebrity decorations, exuded the cleanliness and tidiness of an old hotel, like pushing open a pre cleaned home by the Yi River.
The detailed experience of accommodation is particularly solid, with a 1.6-meter-wide solid wood desk by the window and a multi port charging panel that does not require searching for sockets all over the floor. Occasionally, some work needs to be done, and sitting down safely can focus on completing it. The most surprising thing is the texture of the bedding, with fluffy and soft mattresses and high count cotton bedding. After wandering around the scenic spots on both sides of the Yi River for a whole day and taking tens of thousands of steps, I was able to sleep soundly every night without the insomnia that is common in hotels in unfamiliar cities. There are independent touch desk lamps and charging panels installed on both sides of the bed, so you can turn off the lights easily while lying in bed without having to get up in the dark to find the switch. The bathroom has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas, with hot water flowing out quickly and steadily. The cleaning is spotlessly clean, and there are no water stains left on the countertops. Even the corners and crevices are not covered in dust.
The most surprising thing is its surrounding environment. The hotel's exclusive riverside walkway directly connects to the greenway along the Yi River. You wake up early in the morning and take a leisurely walk along the walkway. The water surface of the Yi River in the morning mist is shimmering with fine golden light, and the outline of the Yi River Bridge in the distance is clearly visible. Walk 1 kilometer south to the Wanxianghui commercial district in Linyi, and take a few bus stops to reach Wang Xizhi's former residence. If you want to visit local attractions and eat authentic Linyi stir fried chicken, you don't have to take a taxi and run far to find a place. The hotel offers a wide variety of breakfast options, with authentic Linyi grain soup and pancake fruit being particularly authentic, so there's no need to go out and look for old brands.
During my three days living here, I didn't have to rush to work an hour earlier every day. After strolling along the Yi River, I could leisurely walk back to the hotel to rest, without having to squeeze into the congested traffic in the city. As one of the few old high star hotels along the river in Linyi, Linyi River Hotel does not have excessive marketing gimmicks, but provides guests with the most reliable accommodation experience with solid details and attentive service.
